John Zappettini

President & CEO

John is responsible for the management of Zappettini Capital focusing on all aspects of our business leveraging his over 30 years of experience in the corporate finance, private equity and commercial real estate industries. He has led or advised on over $850 million of transactions in the United States and Europe.  John has worked for private equity firm Plantagenet in San Francisco and Paris, and for computer equipment distributor Memorex Telex in London, Maastricht and Milan.  John grew up in the Bay Area and worked in his family’s wholesale flower and nursery businesses in California and then later in Europe for EuroFlorist where he worked to consolidate the industry across Europe.  John earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Kate Jorgensen

Vice President, Acquisitions & Asset Management

Kate is responsible for the firm’s acquisitions, development projects and portfolio asset management. She has experience in multi-family residential repositioning and development, project management, marketing, and corporate finance.  Prior to joining Zappettini, Kate worked at The Pramana Collective, a communications consultancy, and North Point Advisors, a boutique investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions, both in San Francisco.  Kate earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of San Francisco.

William A. (Bill) Zappettini, Jr.

Chairman

Bill spent his career working in the flower business for over 50 years.  He served in various positions including President of the national wholesale florist company William Zappettini Company started by his father.  Later in the mid 1980’s, he founded the local SF Brannan Street Wholesale Florist which became the largest wholesaler at the San Francisco Flower Mart.  In the 1980’s Bill received local notoriety as the KCBS Flower Man thorough a regular radio program reporting live from the Flower Mart.  Throughout his career, Bill served on many industry boards and commissions, and has been active with the family’s real estate portfolio of investments including the development of properties in San Francisco and Mt. View.  Bill is a long time native of San Francisco and the Bay Area, and he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.
